Google Chrome Extension to Remove Advertisements on Yahoo Email
Today I got a popup notification on Yahoo email asking if I wanted to remove those ads on the right hand side. I was like “heck yes!” Turns out, Yahoo just released a new extension on Google Chrome which removes those ads on Yahoo email. The catch is you have to agree to set Yahoo as your default search engine. I know… I know… that’s a big sacifice. How could I possibly choose Yahoo over Google search? I don’t know how long I can handle this, but I will give it a try. If you read my post on why I don’t like Yahoo, you will know my feelings about those resource-hogging ads on Yahoo.
I will say one thing: Yahoo email is running a lot faster without the ads. Also, I have my homepage button on Chrome still set to Google, so it shouldn’t be too bad.
I can only speak for Google Chrome. I am not sure if they released anything on any other browser.
Update:
After about a week, I removed the extension to remove Yahoo email advertisements. I couldn’t get used to Yahoo search (Bing results). It just seemed like I was missing out on search results by not using Google.
